My little bun has had his share of eczema outbreaks since he was about 6 months old. His eczema usually flares up when the temps are hot or if he's wearing long sleeved clothing. At night, he would scratch his skin so badly and it was like nothing helped. I tried butters and oils and it got worse! I suffered with eczema when I was a kid, so I know his pain. The itching, and in extreme cases, burning and inflamed patches in the creases of my arms were terrible, I will never forget the discomfort. When a mother see's her child in discomfort, it sucks!
When the doctor handed me the prescription for Ellis when he was under the 1 year mark, he handed it to me with a disclaimer "Use this sparingly and only for a few days at a time" I remember being hesitant to even use it on my Little Bun after that warning. I did my research and read that doctors recommend using it sparingly because the chemical in the cream can get concentrated in the baby’s bloodstream after getting absorbed through the skin. Still enough to freak a new mama out though, right!??
I’m glad we finally have a natural alternative!
